Revival the Movie

Again a bit off topic but the revival short film is not up online:

and on youtube:

I had little hand in cinematography and camera work, but this was filmed with a Canon 5D DSLR using various lenses including a long telescopic one. We decided to go completely black & white because we had no decent lighting and hence the color variation across the scenes was too much. Also so many of the scenes were so flat that our editor decided to use "post-lighting" which is at times a little too much I think, but definitely gives the images much more depth than the original footage.

Ahhh the things you can do with the right equipment :)

Revival the Movie

This is a little bit off topic and perhaps could be considered advertising (shameful I know)...A group of us are working on a short film, for which we now have a website and a teaser:

http://www.RevivalTheMovie.com/

What might interest you is that the camera guys are using a Canon DSLR to film the whole thing (I forget which model). The teaser is only using a 50mm prime lens at least for the office shots. But for the film itself all sorts of lenses are being used. Of course these DSLRs shoot in HD which is pretty nice. The brownish tone of the colors is applied in post-processing.

I’ll keep you posted when the film is completed.
